What do students learn?
We recommend students are at least 5 years old before starting wushu classes. During the beginner classes, students will work on developing the fundamentals (or jibengong 基本功) which are the building blocks for mastering the core skills. These include stretching and flexibility, basic kicks, stances and footwork, jumping kick techniques, body strengthening and more. Once a foundation is gained through basic training, bare-handed fighting (like Longfist) and weapon routines are introduced. Each student learns at a different pace so the timing of this can vary. What if my child starts at an older age?
We have youth students of all ages in our beginners class. The difference with starting at an older age is that you are able to progress much faster depending on the student’s ability to train hard, concentration focus and enjoyment of wushu.
WhAT are the class times?
Below is our current class schedule. Beginner classes are Saturdays 4-5 pm and Sundays 12-1pm.

What doES MY CHILD need to wear?
Every student receives a school T-shirt and black wushu pants as part of their registration. They will also need to wear wushu shoes during class. You can purchase these types of martial arts shoes online.
Do you offer trial classes?
Yes! We always recommend doing a trial class first in order to get a feel for what we do. Trial classes are on Sundays 12-1 PM or Saturday 4-5 PM. If you're interested, please contact us. Students should wear a T-shirt, loose fitting athletic pants and indoor athletic shoes to the trial class.
